Pre-Wedding · Kazakhstan

Almaty & Aktobe

27 June – 5 July 2026

A short guide to our nine days together before the wedding — mountains, canyons and alpine lakes around Almaty, then a flight west to Aktobe for the celebration.

A few things to know

Kazakhstan loves meat

Most local dishes are meat-forward — beshbarmak, plov, manty, shashlyk. If you don't eat meat, come prepared and pack alternatives where you can.

Pack snacks for the road

On 29 June we drive deep into the steppe — there's no McDonald's out there. Bring snacks, water, and anything you'd want for a long day.

Yurt life on 29 June

Two large yurts booked at Kolsay, sleeping 5–6 people each. The toilet is in a separate building outside — bring a torch and warm layers for the night.

Kazakh time at the wedding

04 July is set for 18:00, but Kazakh weddings often start up to an hour later than printed. No need to rush — arrive relaxed.
